Requirements

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or equivalent from a recognised institution.
  • Valid Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) practicing licence.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of hospital or clinical pharmacy experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in pharmacy operations, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication management systems, and HMIS pharmacy modules.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and supervision of pharmacy services and personnel.
  • Develop, implement, and audit pharmacy policies, SOPs, and medication protocols.
  • Oversee safe storage, dispensing, and rational use of medications.
  • Manage pharmaceutical procurement, inventory, and supply chain using FEFO practices.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with PPB regulations and maintain controlled drug logs.
  • Monitor medication errors, near misses, and adverse drug events; implement corrective actions.
  • Supervise pharmacists, pharmaceutical technologists, and pharmacy assistants.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams on medication therapy management and patient safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from a KMPDC-recognised institution.
  • Valid registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
  • Successfully completed one-year internship from a recognised institution.
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance Cover.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a busy hospital setting.
  • Sound diagnostic skills, clinical judgment, and excellent problem-solving ability.

Key Responsibilities
